Swettysblazer's 1991 K5 Trazer: ONE TONS!

Might have found a set of 3/4 tons with 4.10's for 300 bucks.... only catch is that they are 8 lug, which means I'll have to switch rims and tires...

I bought a whole truck with 8 lug axles on it for I think 350$ just to get the 4 speed. Should have taken the axles too :doah: That's what I get for not listening to other Brian.

Anyways, this may have been a rarer find, but the moral of the story is the truck would have had wheels also. Maybe you could find someone parting out and get the whole tamale or enchilada is it? I need neers, daylight is starting to disappear.

Still, that sounds like a good price

I agree with you Rich. The set I was talking about needs the perches moved, but they are the gear ratio I want, and they came out of a running, driving truck. However, I would need to do rims, perches, and possibly tires (do they even make a 15 inch rim in 8 lug???) to run that setup.

I've got Josh on the hunt for a six lug 14b because he's the junkyard guru down south. I think I may hold out for one of them.

I have already spent close to 550$ getting brakes and stuff for my six lug. That makes for a total of 970$ on my six lug. I may spring for another 100$ on backing plates so everything is clean when it goes in.

Just to give you an idea.

I only have spent 170ish dollars on discount qualifying parts. The rest is with diy and a diff cover.

Yes. You have to grind the calipers on the front to get them to fit. They'll go on the rear with no problem.

Or get some 16.5 steelies and some humvee takeoffs.
