Teck's '86 K5 Build -5.3 LS/4L65E swap

I'm putting a 1" body lift on now. Years ago it had a 3" body lift. I also got zero rate to put on it.

How much suspension and how big of tires are you going to go back with?

8" springs with zero rates and a 1" inch body lift. 10" of total lift, Also going to move the front axle forward 1".
The tires I have are 39/18 MT baja on 16.5 X 14 weld wheels, I'm just going to run them for now but may change the tires after I get it all done.

Those Bahas are offly old by now, right? Sure would suck to have one come apart and take out a fender.:doah: If they are older than 10 years I'd replace them, under that and I'd run them, but I wouldn't drive very many miles on them at one time.

They are old, but in real good shape, will be one thing I will change, but i want to get it running first.

Got some more parts painted.

Springs, tank shield, shackles, ubolt plates and body mount washers are all ready to get from the powdercoat shop also.

Also does anyone have any good pics of how the fuel and brake lines go.took them oof to long ago to remeber exactly how they all go back on. Should have taken some good pics bak then.

Because it use to have a 3" body lift on it an the tire could hit the back of the fenders. Now I'm going with a 1" body lift and zero rates with the axle 1" forward to hope they will clear. Had 11" total lift before now it will only have 10" of total lift. Just didn't want that 3" body lift anymore, all the bolts were bent when I took it off. Hoping the 1" want look bad and I won't have to move the bumpers either.

Are those your original bodymount washers in the picture in post 209?
I need some for my truck. Wondering where you got them if not original

Have you looked at LMC? I believe you can get the components seperate from them.

in my case, i did change my mind from 1 to 1.5... but i'm doing hi-steer, which may limit me... for my rig, trying to stay pretty low and get the best approach angle, i'm gonna try to go 1.5 if i can.... not worried about the 38's and my sectioned fenders, but i think if i get some 39.5's on locks for the trail, i'll appreciate the 1.5 alot...

Good thing is it won't be hard to change if I think I need to.
