Wowzers, man. When I pumped my Suburban tank dry I squeezed in just over 33 gallons.

Be glad you have the TBI baffle, you didn't have many miles left! :haha:

I'm amazed that the 454 isn't taking some oil...everyone I've had used at least a qt every 1000mi. the CCDRW used a qt about every 350-400mi.
I got 9.5 avg bringing mine home with 4.10's so I'm thinking your right in the ball park with 10 on the burb...3.73's or 4.10's?
and don't ya hate it when everyone says as big as you are you shouldn't get cold....HEY, that just that much more surface area to expose to the elements!

3.42s according to the rpo.
That 2 lane road is Highway 14 in Washington. that bridge is Bridge of the Gods. You are super lucky..they close that bridge and don't let traffic thru heading south..you coulda had to drive all the way to Tri-Cities WA in order to cross the river..woulda added like 100 miles to your trip..glad you made it back and the truck is holding together

Nope i passed the bridge of the gods. That is the hood River bridge.

Didn't even gimme a hiccup

I wonder if you have a 40 gallon tank and the gauge is just off. I had a 6.2 burb with the 40 gallon tank and the gauge would go about a quarter past the empty mark. I never did run it all the way empty to find out how close it actually was either.

The forty gallon tank will measure about 35 inches long at the flange where the top and bottom are joined...

They're deeper than a 32gal as well, they hang lower.

Measurements pfft those require effort. Much easier to throw my 5 gallon fuel can and just run er out!

According to the GM heritage center stuff my burb should have the bigger tank. They list the capacity at approx 37 gallons for all 89 burbs

Well time to look at it and figure it out.

There are some minor vibrations during driving. I can feel em through the wheel. So probably gonna do some front suspension work.

Going to order a load distribution hitch.

An exhaust is in order and while I'd like to squeeze in some headers. I want to get good headers.

Unfortunately ( Fortunately) this gives us a bit to pay some bills up that were unexpected also. Workman's comp denied Kristle's claim when she got bit by a dog so a solid chunk has to go to that

Dude I'm jealous...

Okay, idea just crossed my mind, keep the white top and bottom, extend that burgundy (or what ever it is) up the whole side of the truck, pull the rear most side windows and fill the holes with sheet medal to make a 'panel' look. Bags. Stock trim and bumpers and handles and everything else to keep it clean... like the lowered one below, but filled windows like the camo one...
