:haha:

So I need to submit this. The truck was named The Herp, well cause everyone contributed

But I submit a small letter change to Herb basically cause I don't want my kids to go to school telling their friends they worked on The Herp, it will be weird explaining that to teachers.

So I'm asking the naming committee if we can go with Herb the herp.

Today was interesting. I get turned around easy in cities. Especially city's I know nothing about.

My phone decided I need to take this 2 lane road and since I'm a slave to my phone I got turned around wasted an hour in Portland. Then instead of the interstate, I was literally on a 2 lane road on the other side of the river. It was actually very pretty. Unfortunately it was full of slow people. Finally after likely being 2 hours behind where I should have been on hit the interstate.

I did get to go over this bridge though. Very cool

So far the burb had been doing really well no real issues at all.

Well except I couldn't charge my phone cause the cigarette lighter wasn't working. No biggie.

Well then the windshield wipers quit working.

It was rainy so I thought it best to investigate.

Some loose connections at the wiper motor must have popped the fuse. And found the cigarette lighter fuse was popped too. Got all that situated and off I went. Even the cruise control works mostly.

Stopped at a rest stop to use the restroom and check the oil

By this time I was even using the radio effectivily.

I was trying to feel everything out and make mental notes of what to check.

I was also watching the fuel gauge. It was doing pretty good. I decided to let it go for a bit and fill it up at a 1/4 tank or so.

Unfortunately when it hit a 1/4 tank I didn't see the sign that said next service 76 miles.

So I know the gauge goes this low

Took that at the pump. Not sure how much further I had left. Sean @Z71paramedic had even offered a gas can to make sure i didn't run out but I said no I never let it get that low!

Not sure how big my tank is but I put IMG_20171002_230649.jpg
A fair amount in :)

About 20 miles before I found that gas station the driver's side window stopped working. I though fuse, but all the other ones worked. Tried to fix it at the gas station but nothing doing. The driver's window is now about a 1/3 of the way up and will not budge.

Well I was running way behind and decided to stop at my parents house. It's only 20 minutes off my actual route. It's a good thing. I didn't bring a coat and having that window down, even with the awesome heater this thing has, it was cold. And would have only gotten colder.

So I'm in bed at my parents place. 4 more hours tomorrow and I'll be home!

Burb managed just over 10 mpg

I'm amazed that the 454 isn't taking some oil...everyone I've had used at least a qt every 1000mi. the CCDRW used a qt about every 350-400mi.
I got 9.5 avg bringing mine home with 4.10's so I'm thinking your right in the ball park with 10 on the burb...3.73's or 4.10's?
and don't ya hate it when everyone says as big as you are you shouldn't get cold....HEY, that just that much more surface area to expose to the elements!

That 2 lane road is Highway 14 in Washington. that bridge is Bridge of the Gods. You are super lucky..they close that bridge and don't let traffic thru heading south..you coulda had to drive all the way to Tri-Cities WA in order to cross the river..woulda added like 100 miles to your trip..glad you made it back and the truck is holding together
