The gas filler neck protector has seen better days, so I set about replacing it with a junkyard unit I got 3 years ago.


I knew there was a little surface rust on the new one

But didn't realize it had begun doing some actual weight reduction of its own. So this project was put on hold for the day. I'll cut up a license plate to patch the holes and reinstall it later.

The previous owner put this carpeted floor mat under the rubber cargo area floor mat.

The right thing to do would be to cut out the rusted area and weld in patch panels, prime, and paint.

So I did the right thing and slapped a license plate on top of it. Should hold for now.

Oh and I finally installed the tire carrier.
