Short story: I passed the emissions test!

Long story: I have been to so many junkyards. Even had a pair of manifolds hand-delivered from across the country that ended up not working with my existing exhaust pipes. Numerous trips to Autozone and lots of time spent under the hood.

Things I've added:
Air pump, brackets, belt
Air injection piping
Charcoal canister, vacuum lines
EGR valve, vacuum lines
EFE TVS valve, vacuum lines
Catalytic converter

Things I've replaced:
Driver's side exhaust manifold with 1 large metric threaded hole for air injection tube
Muffler
Thermostat housing (and thermostat, because why not)
PCV valve, vacuum lines (notice a theme?)
Air cleaner, filter, snorkel, vacuum lines

They spent all of 20 seconds glancing around under the hood before rolling it onto the dyno.

I've learned that emissions control systems are complex, but not really that hard when you break it down piece by piece. Also the exhaust smell is much less offensive now.

Congrats on passing emissions. It's ironic all the work you went through to get all the systems in place and working and they glance at it before rolling on the dyno. I bet they couldn't identify half the stuff you put in because it's older than they are. But as long as it passes on the sniffer it's good. Way to go!
 
It’s a shame people don’t leave a lot of the emissions stuff alone.

I dropped off my rally wheels at a fabrication shop in Denver last Wednesday. They'll get sandblasted and powder coated the original argent silver color for cheaper than Les Schwab quoted me. Plus it's supporting a local business, which is nice.

After you mentioned Les Schwab powder coating wheels on that trail run, I've been wondering what a local shop would quote.

Les Schwab walked back their phone quote when I met them in person. Guy on the phone said $35 each to sand blast and powder coat. Guy in person said $75 each and that they don't do a very good job. Wtf

So I hit up 4 Wheel Parts and they referred me to a local shop. The local shop is doing them for $65 each.
 
Dude, congratulations on passing emissions and getting all that stuff installed and working. That's a feat.
 
Got the wheels back from the powder coater today. I think they turned out great.

This Jimmy near my place has the wheel covers mine had originally from the factory. It isn't listed for sale, but you never know.

Got a new steering wheel from U Pull N Pay and a grille and mudflaps from LKQ Pick Your Part the other day. They may go on the Jimmy or on the garage art wall, I haven't decided yet.

Also, bonus GM glove with a proper logo on it. I found it in the back of a GMT400 Suburban. Would that have been a factory accessory?

My vote is yes for the steering wheel. They are so much nicer when driving.
