I think that knob is an early 205 version. My 75 had the same knob. The markings for shift position on those were on the shift boot ring instead of being on the knob like later ones.

I have it on my head that the 203 and 205 cases used that knob for a bit, with the corresponding plate for each.
But maybe I'm crazy...

Yeah, I was thinking I'd seen them on 203 shifters. Probably remembering it from the 75 K5 I had at the tail end of my Navy days.

That shift knob is for an NP203. The shift pattern for an NP203 is on a piece of metal on the left side of the boot.

I've had that exact same knob on the shifter for my range box on my doubler for years.

So all this conversation adds to some fun.

Truck is a factory 205, all original parts upon me taking possession of it in 1996, when it had 64,000 miles.

Truck was built the 3rd week of 1976 (same exact week I was born)

The original case shift boot is still in the truck to go with that shiftknob. It is the marked plate style held in place by the shifter boot
(The second shift knob pictured came off an '80 205 truck. Originally stole the shifter to use and build my own using stock sticks)

Double and triple check your holes when you drill them in the box. I messed up the lower hole by 1/16 or so of an inch. So I just went with the top and front caps instead.

Will do. I have done a few before, but it's been so long I don't remember my dimensions.

@6872xtc has my old truck, I figured I'd list his measurements here for others to have
