Went and looked, I don’t have it. Either borrowed it from someone or loaned it out I guessWhat is the title of that book, I would like to add that one to my library for sure.

MF makes a chambered style as wellI thought flowmaster was baffles and magnaflow was like a fancy glasspack with stainless packing.
Gotcha! I vote for single 4" or 5" magnaflow diesel muffler with single in single out exhaust. Oh and you might need a turbo to help out with the flow.MF makes a chambered style as well
The article Lane posted was pretty insightful. You should read itGotcha! I vote for single 4" or 5" magnaflow diesel muffler with single in single out exhaust. Oh and you might need a turbo to help out with the flow.

There's got to be something out of spec on the case. When i get around to replacing my cheap crappy headers I’m going 3” single for sure and probably the biggest case magnaflow I can find.
Bummer to hear about your 205 eating seals, sucks having to pull those apart regular basis.
Trying to get the pipe away from the t case and the fuel lines.I am rather surprised by you even considering single exhaust.
And the article Lane linked made me wonder about my fancy glass pack Magnaflow.
But carry on
Simplified model of winch/plate mounted similar to yours.
I agree with these guys, frame rails, or the bolts will be the first to go, but not before you bend that plate...
I'll do another one mounted on a receiver tube to show the different case.
Solidworks Simulation and NastranWhat FEA package are you running?
Oh I understand, but it still surprises me.Trying to get the pipe away from the t case and the fuel lines.

I figure I don't have to worry about the 73 being obnoxiously loud like yours because I have puny compression.Or @mrk5 asking about the exhaust system on my truck because it sounds so patriotic
I was looking at the Thrush for the 73. Right now it looks like an 80's exhaust setup with the 2.25" pipes off the manifolds Y-ing together near the transmission to a single driver side exhaust run. That single pipe looks to also be 2.25", maybe 2.5" at best. Plus the muffler has a big ol' patch hose clamped to it. I want to keep the single exhaust and bump it up to 3" and I'm thinking of running a single 3" Thrush welded muffler exit before the rear tire. I would like it to have a little more attitude.Always possible
I have to cut the old one off to redo it, figured i would look in there. A 3” in/out is only $38.
I would give them to @mrk5 if he needs them
Careful what you wish for. I did that with Flowmaster and that muffler is HUGE. I have to use a jack to put in place and it has to be slightly rotated to clear the driveshaft. When i get around to replacing my cheap crappy headers I’m going 3” single for sure and probably the biggest case magnaflow I can find.
Nope, yer not alone. I've always had single exhaust on my '77 and '79.Ha lots of folks talking about joining the single exhaust club! I figured I'd always be alone with that.
