I ran into a guy at the yard once that was pulling every square body steering box that he could find. He said he rebuilds them himself and I keep kicking myself for not getting his number.

I've had the best luck with junkyard boxes. I just search for a dry one. I havent bought any of the spendy aftermarket ones though.

Yeah I’m not a fan of doing a steering box every year

In my defense, I paid to have one built, and it was not...

so I’m still using used shitforparts

My PSC box was awesome and never hiccuped.

I did have PSC rebuild one of my P-Pumps and their service in that regard was very good. I would have no worries about sending them a box if it went bad.

With that said, I also have had great service with Howe. Was easy to talk to those guys on the phone about things.

Not to be plugging a bunch of companies... But ORD would definitely go to bat for you if you bought a box from them as well I'm sure.

M

Must be operator error. :D
Most the ones on the K5 we shitboxes. Blew a couple of them up with too much pressure :haha:

Truth is, my parts box was really good until I bottomed the drag link out on the crossmember. It clicks now when the hubs are locked.
Works fine on the street

The buy in is the only issue on a PSC box from ORD. But yeah, you know good and well ORD stands behind their stuff
Getting closer to this point....

Do it once and be done
It's sound logic. I missed most of BB17 when it pooped gear #2
missed Flat Iron Mesa at BB19 cuz the box

that was after 18 trips to Moab mostly unscathed. Even the year the bent72 lost the engine, I made it back to the trailer on the last day

That 465 that lost 2nd gear should be my best buddy. If not for that I wouldn't have had your help on Moab Rim at BB17. And I sorely needed the help.
