Hey Mark, I've been planting seeds in my wife's head about how beautiful Moab is. :D Both of us might be able to give @mrk5 a run up Eisenhower.

The FCC is just an option for people that don't want to redo their entire fuel system. It's intended to feed off of the manual pump but can be fed off an electric pump.

I'd think FItech would do such testing to validate their products...
I'm sure they have.

But a stock engine doesn't have the VE to utilize gains in the size of the throttle body size. And with the fuel/timing map correct on both systems, there is likely little power difference

On a modified engine, different story.

Yeah the FCC is more focused on applications that still have mechanical fuel pumps. I don't think FiTech is necessarily targeting users with already TBI equipped vehicles. I'm only considering it because the motor I'm swapping in is carburetor equipped.

I doubt the FiTech would outperform factory TBI on a stock motor. It would start to look better with a more modified motor, especially for people that don't have access or comfort with burning custom chips for the factory system.

I agree, I don't think that is the target audience.

@skunked hurry up, go dyno your junk!

It does. So I'll repeat my question. Why is this a popular solution? Is it that hard to redo the fuel system with a return line?
I think it can be with older muscle cars and the like. Plus if you think about it the FCC just makes it that much more of a easy bolt-on solution. Sometimes 'easiest' will outweigh 'best'. Or else they wouldn't still be selling lift blocks! LOL

:rotfl:

Then why not just run the mechanical pump and let it be? We had a tiny flame war going on about this last year, a mechanical pump should be able to supply the fuel rail just like the electric pump does (though it takes a couple seconds to come up to pressure).
