4.10 hi pinion gear and series 4 powr lok installed. Gear set didn't want to be set up today...

Addressed some steering malfeasance and took measurements for the limit strap and bump stop.

Found a couple minor malfunctions to fix

If there are things you all want better pictures or explanations of, let me know and I will update the earlier posts to be better detailed.

Something I've been wondering, does changing the thread title mess up links to it?

It would knock like mad. When it had the carb it would diesel on 87 with 14° lead.

It gets better mileage on 91
Been thinking about this since our "discussion" here in the thread. Trying to decide if I could swallow spending an extra $17/fill-up.

Spread sheet it, see what the fuel cost per mile is using 87 and 91. Do 3 tanks each
Last time I did that, the cost/mile was almost the same, but the truck ran better.

How much difference in MPG you notice?
I don't remember exactly now, but I remember it was more than 1 MPG. I'm sure the fuel is different now, and the differences in the trucks certainly warrant an actual test

Except once you bump compression, aren't you kinda stuck with it?

You get over 10, I'd say yes. But I wouldn't drop an engine in anything less than 9.5:1, you're giving up to much power
