Driveshaft definitely didn't bottom out...I am curious about that theory. I am having a difficult time seeing how the 203 section could cause 2nd gear to pop, and that bearing on the 205 to push out. I would think that the front output shaft would need to be pushed into the case to shove that roller bearing out.
Not trying to argue your thoughts, but merely understand.
I hope that you don't run into a mystery, as the failure is disappointing enough!!!!

I wasn't implying that you had that wrong. Plus I believe that it would have to knock the snap ring off of the front bearing to drive it into the case, with the shaft. I believe that would be less likely versus pushing the whole case backwards.Driveshaft definitely didn't bottom out...
PlausibleOr the 2 have nothing to do with each other.
Jeez! That was fast..
Pretty sure the 203 caused that and the 465

I'll look into that, thanksSomething else I though of. Mine had sloppy detents in the 205, so I polished the shift shafts (insert pun here) and shimmed the detent balls down quite a bit. It makes an audible"click" when it engages. I then did the same to the 203 later after I felt it too was sloppy.
