I was thinking and I thought it was mentioned earlier. But that front output rear bearing cover being knocked out like that. What gave on the front to allow that? Is the c clip still intact or did it maybe strip the output nut off?

I mean something bad went down, and movement had to occur somewhere to cause that.

Got pics of it? I'm curious

Edit I wouldn't think driveshaft either, that would just bust the case off. Been there.
 
Have a couple of my own theories and a few that were mentioned to me that seem real plausible

About 1/4" offset. Lock ring and washer is in place

I believe the gears meshing offset like that is normal, but I can check in the morning. I don't build them everyday.

What's the wear on the back cover? I can't tell in that picture.

Looks like the lock ring did a few laps around that plate.
