So I opted for pass drop

Not that it matters here but with the short oil filter mine clears. So far anyways.

Yeah it can be relocated. I liked the idea of having one of the few passenger drop high pinion axles

Cut the long side down and pressed the C on at Chevy length. Then machined the Chevy factory long to slip inside the Ford short since they are different tube diameter. So there is 8" of overlap on the long side that was pressed in. Then welded it

I really wanted to but couldn't find any cheap GM60 knuckles and all that neat stuff and I wasn't doing it and keeping the Ford stuff.

Your way makes it way easier though. Fuel lines, traction bars and all that are all on the same side with the Ford setup.

Same piece on the original trans in the truck.
Looks like the wear coating came off ( the others didn't look so good either) and wiped the fork out.

1-2 gear and reverse gear also damaged

I have a 10 spline 465 with good forks and gears. Probably make a pile on the floor and start over. Should have a usable spare when I'm done

Then I never paint it anyway

So against my better judgment I have painted #2

Meh. The poll said orange. Sure easy to see and do things under there with all the cast iron painted a nice bright color

I think you should paint the bellhousing silver.
