So come to find out the pilot bushing was .003 smaller than two of the three 465 clutch gears I have, including the one in the truck.

So after a couple of stabs , set the engine back on the floor and worked it out. Unfortunately that means I also rolled the truck back in the garage with the engine still on the floor.

Kid has tennis tomorrow. Oh well

So after seeing that pic, and installing my headers today, I was reminded of the brace for the alternator / pump bracket which bolts to the exhaust. I know some guys have left that bracket off, but my brain says to put it back on. I am toying with a spacer cut to size, with a bolt through it all, or stud / coupler nut / bolt.
Hopefully this shows you what the factory did.

I’m thinking that won’t clear the valve cover. I’ll have to look closer

Taking my time and fixing wiring snafus and other malfeasance caused by the current owner

I hear ya, and I know that you don't need more crap to contemplate right now.

Have some welding and rewiring. Exhaust needs reworked, and the braces for the serp setup

Really kinda a diminishing return thing on a street engine. They can yield some horsepower returns on a race engine, and maybe even some longevity on a stocker. But the factory rockers are still on the other engine and had no concerns

I put them on the engine @6872xtc has now just because I had em

And for clarification, the roller tip really is useful on the higher lift because it keep the rocker from “digging” into the valve. Roller trunnion really only has benefits at higher rpm

If these give me issues, it will get guide plates and full roller upper. I won’t mess with it if that’s what ya wanna know
