I spent 4 hours today installing a head unit in Eileens Corvette. 3 hours was spent cleaning up and figuring out what works went where in the center console. Yhe PO was aahack. Half an hour installing it. Half an hour figuring out how to program it.
I know what you went through there. We had an 81 Vette in the shop a year ago that he wanted to fix a lot of the PO's butchery. The stereo was one, with an amp and normal BS. My tech asked me multiple times this question: "Do you F***ing hate me?"

Yeah once I got side tracked, other things kept popping up. Then I’m like “ugh, wiring” so find something else to do

Wiring rates pretty close to drilling iron overhead
We finally share a common hate in something. This is the day to be put in the history books.

I would much rather do wiring than drill iron overhead. Wiring is way safer, and not too bad once someone shows you some things.
I guess I am kind of slowly understanding that. When I woke up this morning, I was thinking about some of my wiring in the K5, and got mildly excited about cleaning it up. So I guess you may be right.

Great progress man! I finally got a free half hour to catch up on others builds. Glad you went black I did too but that makes me wonder if that's why the factory painted them orange... It would be much easier for tracking down factory leaks :haha:I kno I'm late to the party:cool:

It’s all good. Been isolating the hypocrites one at a time lol

Yeah needed some room to the headers. Had about an inch, gained at least another and change.

Plus my old starter was starting to labor

Now lengthening a bunch of wires to stay off the headers. Remember now why I hate headers
