It obviously needs more cubic inches to assist with cold start up.
Speaking of don't start...

I went back and re-budgeted what I might have built the other day. An 8.1 would have cost less than what I have invested. The BBC I wanted, I would still have invested another $2K over what I have in it.
And it probably would have broke something...

So are you trying to rationalize the decision you made or torture yourself for not going with a big block? Because it's thoughts like that to lead you down to a big block.

I've done it. For only a little bit more than what I had into my LS swap I could have done the L29 or 8.1 then. My brain soured on the lack of torque, slow uphill rides and generally loosing the "fun to drive" feeling when beating the snot out of the 5.3 added to it. So I go out and buy a big block. And the snowball is rolling down hill and catching speed.

I really think you have an ideal setup for a small block. Stick with it. Don't keep thinking about what might have been. Second guessing stuff is what keeps builds torn down perpetually.

You know a Paxton would bolt up right? Less work than a roots or a hair dryer. It would probably give you another 150 at least. Maybe a procharger. Just throwing ideas out.

It may be short 300. It wont spin the tires in 3rd when I mash it
Probably should stop watching KOH and trophy trucks
:haha:

Wife rode in it to the Bball game last night. All she could keep saying was how much better it rode than her car down the dirt road.
:rotfl:

I thought that's how all builds worked...... "with all I have spent to this point, I could have just done XXXX to begin with....."

@sweetk30

Part of why I didn’t mess with cold enrichment is because that was a one time thing. I wanted it to do it several times before I messed with the parameters
7* / -14c and it started, just needed another full flywheel rotation
Also been real attentive to the transmission, since I told @max 02 I would. Even at -14 Canadian, it still shifts. I do have 90 w in the cases.
That will change when I do the bearing and 205 output some day

o.k. got ya . i know your still letting it learn tho . playing in demo mode there is the advanced enrichment section that lets you play with % changes in degree temp ranges for super fine tuning i think if i understand it correctly .

To me it’s a lot like a carb. If it does something odd once, you don’t tear it apart and start over. Repeatedly does the same issue under same conditions? Then adjust it

Also like a carb, most people do more bad than good sticking fat fingers in there
