Is your tailgate bent? I have never opened mine up to lube it.

Yeah it’s got about a 1 inch bow in it. Used as a company truck for about 10 years. And I was dragging an engine hoist on a chain through the desert the other day and the handle on the hoist got into the tailgate handle kind of accelerated things a little bit
Makes sense, I'm amazed mine is in the shape it is, I havn't been nice to it.
The tailgate is the the only straight panel on the Jimmy.
I know for sure I don't have a spacer. I do have a 14" diameter velocity stack base that would get it up and off of the throttle body. Make the air turn in nice and smooth!
The Hoser Air kit has the salad bowl style lower. But in true fashion for a truck guy, it’s a small salad...
think I will keep looking for a tbi spacer
I'd have to unearth it in my mess of a garage. I know it fits under the hood of a square with a standard 2"x14" round air filter. Besides velocity stacks are cool!
Well the radius of the stack has the bottom of the filter almost 6" off the top of the carb so any taller filter might interfere with the hood closing.
I do know that the '56 Nomad it came from did have a 4" filter but they have a whole lot more room under the hood.

Looking for the 6” diameter riser above the TBi. Larry might have one
factory tbi to air cleaner spacer tube ?
i got a few . but i dont recall a 6" tall one . .

i think they made 2. 1” and maybe 2.5” tall. Regular air cleaner diameter. That’s probably not 6”. Bah humbug
