So the good: Drove it around the neighborhood, have all 12 forward gears. Everything is good there

Bad: still leaking out the front of the tranny. Must be the bearing retainer. At least after pulling the drive shafts and just a few bolts, I know I can roll the whole mess back and pull the bearing retainer.

Ugly: no amount of cussing could get the shifter top that came with this tranny and me to get along. Had it stuck in 2 gears for about an hour sitting in the street. Finally put the shifter original to the truck in.

I know people say the later top is the one to have, but I've got a 1991 K2500 that I cannot stand to drive due to the horrible shifting even by SM465 standards.
