The Camper Thread

I sadly haven't done any modification or repair work to mine since I bought it. Due to harvest being here and still not having a shifter for the 205 in the 78 I opted to free up the F250 today. Hoarding old drums paid off finally

This entire setup looks so much better with the white bed.

I'd say it looks better on the taller truck. That poor orange beast looked like a hampster hitched up to a bobsled. Kinda like this overwhelmed dog:

Next we went to New York and bought a 1964 8 ft Alaskan slide in, pop up camper. Over the next year my Dad completely restored it, new sheetmetal, almost totally new insides, new wiring, Basically a whole new camper, that looked like it was from 1964. This one went on three trips to Canada, Twice more in the Cummins, and once in the green 7.3 Ford, flat towing a YJ wrangler behind it. I've still got this camper, but nothing to put it in, as the silver Dodge is a short bed half ton, and the Cummins has a flatbed on it now.

Lemme know if you ever want to sell this. I'm building a 1959 Chevy apache fleetside longbed that will need a vintage slide in or bed topper

I'm more than likely never going to part with it, though just for conversation's sake here's a picture of my actual Alaskan, as of 2004 or 2005.

The camper, however, is not in season anymore.

Are you serious about replacing it? What will the new setup be?
Yes serious. If the wife can't feel like she's relaxed, then what's the point of owning a camper that doesn't work for us. The plan is to go close to the same size, but not a pop-up style.
I recant my objection to the solid white paint, I say keep it "plain" looking, like a stout looking Gov't truck from some official capacity.
That's awesome! I've never thought of it that way :saweet:
