The Cummins K30

Sick build I am doing the same thing

94 p pump get-rag 205. on a reg cab k30.

I'm usuaully not a fan off the way the Newer seats look in these trucks but those look great!

what kind of mileage are you getting?

Approximately how much did that swap cost?

that thing is my dreaaaammm!

He added some 5" stacks a couple weeks ago. Other than that, I don't think anything has changed. After we did my truck, and he ran out of fuel for the second time, he was convinced to get both fuel tanks hooked back up. He just got back form SEMA so I don't think he's done anything in a few weeks. I think he typically gets ~20mpg.

That's right I typically get 18-20 mpg with this truck.I just recently added 4" exhaust and 6"stacks. That helped my turbo spool a ton faster and dropped the egt's almost 200 degrees. I just received a DennyT fuel pin and 3200 governor spring. Im gonna try to get them both installed tomorrow and have some fun!!!

I haven't kept a firm total on this build but I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 10k in the truck so far. That's steering, suspension, wheels, tires, interior , plus the purchase price of the truck and the donor dodge truck.

I'm not a fan of stacks on newer truck, but on that it looks awesome. Good work man, I am jealous

I drove this truck for a few thousand miles and the more I drove it, the sloppier the steering got. The front springs and bushings would move a considerable amount with the extra weight of the truck and crossover steering only amplified the problem. I fabbed up a track bar for the front axle and added hydro assist too. What a difference those mods made!!! The truck tracks straight and has very responsive steering now.

that's not an exhaust, that's a sewer pipe!:eek1:

Nice truck, really nice!

10K, that's not a lot considering what a beast you have now...and that diesel will last a lifetime :waytogo:

is it just me, or is that spring plate bending a little...?

The spring plate isn't bending. I made those out of 1/2 plate. Its just the camera angle and lighting that make it look that way. You can also see the aluminum zero rate I made to move the axle forward.

Maybe I missed it , but what front springs are you running, and how do they seem to be holding up to the weight ?

I'm running superlift 8" soft ride springs in front. They have settled so much now that they're almost flat. I did pull a couple leaves out of the front though. I had to put on longer shackles because the spring eyes were hitting the frame and the zero rate also adds an inch of lift. The truck rides super smooth and I 'm in the neighborhood of 4" of total lift right now. If the springs settle any farther I'll put another leaf back in front.
