The Green Machine - parked

The build has started! Yesterday (Monday) I started pulling parts off and am now to the point where I'm going to be cutting and grinding for about 3 days to clean up the frame rails enough to look good and be ready for the installation of the swap brackets.

There was a little hitch however...

Explains my fishtailing problem I've had for months, I'm glad it wasn't worse.

I would concur, tie it in with the steering box as well!

Go find some 3M Cubitron grinding wheels or flap discs (they make them in both). They're very expensive but it's all we use at the shop (and now what I use at home as well).
They flat out move the material.

I have a couple that are stupid rough (80 grit IIRC) and in the flap wheel form they're pretty quiet which is a nice plus side if doing a lot of work.

Touche :doah:

Any more progress been made? I've been following since the beginning, I think I might try to do a similar build I'm the future :waytogo:

Today I took this:

Almost ready to wire wheel the frame and weld a plate to the frame to attach the shock towers and front suspension brackets.

Also got a replacement spring for the rear:

Got the frame ready for the brackets to go on, then realized I needed some drill bits, and since I have to get up at 230 for work tomorrow, that it is for today.

Haven't done much this week due to a sudden surge of overtime, but I got the chance to head up to Keith's today and take measurements for steel and also picked up some wheels for after the swap is done.
