They are money pits. My recomendation if you get one is just leave it 100% stock. Once you start upgrading it never ends.
Bigger motor require bigger stronger brake disc, stronger servo to activate brake, stonger dog bone because you will snap the stock ones, longer chassis because now it will always want to wheelie and flip over on its lid, stonger clutch, better stearing servo because at faster speeds its harder to turn, better steering servo saver for the same reason, new wheels because you will constantly strip out the plastic wheels .....................................the list goes on and on. You will be forever chasing out the weak links.
IMO the aluminum parts are the biggest scam ever. You just end up bending them or breaking something else.
Just leave it stock and have fun with it. I quickly put over $2k into my Savage when I bought it. I have more into that stupid truck then what I paid for my blazer initially.
