"The Raped Grape" turning wilted raisin... ***crash update, pics start post 600***

So crazy dude, glad you are ok! How did the frame hold up? Curious how strong g they really are.

Im still in the middle of dealing with all sorts of crap. So progress on anything buggy or truck related is def. At a stand still for the moment until i get everything worked out. Ive got more money flying out of my a$$ then i'd care for but i really dont have a choice. I went and bought a new car fri night so i had wheels to work. I carry full coverage on everything so i will be getting a check on the truck but got the total today, and of course there screwing me. Whats new. Also asked about buy back, and once again i feel like there screwing me so i have lots to think about. Trying to recover losses where i can and in the middle of it all still got a bunch to do with the new shop and house before the white stuff flies. Had to buy 10 cord of wood this week seems as now my new dodge neon cant haul very much wood. That was a $1200 hit.

In all of it tho wouldnt have it any other way. I walked out of that truck even though i probally shouldnt have. Doing 50mph, rolled it twice till a tree stopped it. Ill take the blessings i got and the rest of the stuff will work itself out. Im not worried about it. Party on :thumb:

If you need a hand ripping apart the Oreo to part out for cash. Let me know.

I dont even know if im gonna buy it back yet. For the buy back price they offered and the amount of work to get all the stuff out. I dont even know if its worth it. I have a couple days to decide. We will see.

You can sell the motor for more than the buy back price. Brett just bought his for $1200

Buy back is $1100. And yes i know theres money to be made. But i got alot going on right now. Parting a truck out is the last of my concerns at the moment.

yeah looks like the body lift kit was subpar...is it installation issues or the kit???

Dam Nate, your lucky man!
Glad your still with us, how's the aches and pains?

I really do not know if it was completely the body lift as much as how the truck landed. Eye witness told me that on the first flip my truck was about 15ft in the air (ditch was about 8ft deep where it went flat into a little wooded area)and landed directly on the passenger side roof. Im sure it did not help sith the amount of forces that came from that impact. All the body lift pucks are still tight, no bolts sheared off. It ripped about 3-4 inch circles of sheet metal off every single point. The whole cab is shifted about a foot and a half over from where its supposed to be. Regardless i wont be daily driving any more vehicles with body lifts to test my theory that it was more of the impact.

Suprisingly im feeling fantastic. No issues. Have some seat belt rash still clearing up, scrape on my forehead, and bruise on my thigh.

Don't part it, sell it as one piece and profit.

Martin, he posted on fb. If I remember right someone cut him off and put him into the grass and gravel on the shoulder of the road. Person that cut him off didn't stop to see if he was OK.

Did I miss a thread?

Martin

Was on my way home from work. Following a car, not tailgating them. They locked up there brakes. Which then i locked up my brakes and tried missing them on the shoulder but truck spun and lost control and rolled. Witness who saw and stayed said he saw them lock there brakes, didnt see why they did. But said as soon as i was done flipping they peeled out and took off.

Honestly in that sort of wreck, body lift or not the body is going to be torn off the frame. It is just sheetmetal, maybe a few channels at most, which are still just sheetmetal, it was never designed to be structurally sound in the event of an obviously violent wreck.

I highly doubt the body lift contributed to any damage, or caused the wreck in the first place. Just more like a wrong place, wrong time ordeal. Glad to see your ok though, wrecks suck.

The body lift creates more leverage making it easier to rip off the frame. With no lift it can still happen but not quite as likely.
