The RedBurb

Every Part Is Replaceable
I am not a fan of Rustoleum paint and I don't know how well it holds up but I ended up with some paint plus primer gloss black 2x coverage Rustoleum spray paint and man does it put down some coverage for brackets and such.

I have been using Rustoleum self etching primer and high performance professional enamel gloss black/white for a while now. It’s not the best stuff in the world but it seems to do the job well enough with good coverage.

The absolute best aerosol I’ve used thus far is POR-15 Top Coat, but it’s pricey, so the only thing I’ve used it on is the front inner fenders, but it has held up really well.

I like Dupli-color for most painting. It's got the best spray nozzle/fan spray. I have done a few entire vehicles with it. Tractor paint works great for general stuff that needs to be tough. This Rustoleum I have is acrylic enamel also, same as tractor paint I think.

Transparent moment:

I never, not even once, at any point during the build of this roof rack, considered the need to measure the pop up tent I posted recently. So I was naturally surprised when I opened the tent only to discover that it was MUCH wider than the roof rack.

So I was confronted with two options: 1) Build a wider rack, or, 2) buy a smaller tent.

I bought a smaller tent.

Truth be told, even though I “goofed” by not measuring the first tent before I built the rack, this is an overall better outcome because a rack wide enough to fit the 4-person pop up tent would have looked pretty awkward, and this new 1-person (maybe 1-adult + 1-child) tent was very affordable.

Speaking of children, my youngest son is sick, so our camping trip is postponed, which is really okay, because I have a lot of other commitments that I’ll be able to devote this time to, rather than piece mealing it intermingled with family time.

The lower side rails that you said are warped from welding.

And nope, on the video. Is it only me? I have to download it to watch it.
Thanks for telling me about the download option.
I always see these and feel like I am the only one that can not see them.
So no, you're not alone
