The restoration/modification of Daisy.

I missed that post, odd. I just ordered some from him yesterday. Curious to see how it goes. I emailed him, and then just talked to him on the phone.

Get lug nuts ordered?

He sent me 33 of them, for $32.55. Can't complain about that.

ive been looking around on Ebay at center caps. some of them specify that they're for steel wheels only, some don't but none explain the difference. looks like i can get a set of 4 for under $100 but ive got other things to buy right now, these can wait.

i just ordered my shifter, Lokar midnight series 16" floor mount. **** that column shifter ****, no going back now. i'm also filling up a shopping cart on amazon buying relays, switches and **** i'm gonna need for wiring everything up.

Yeah. My wife would think I was going crazy(er). Hiding on the floor next the gun safe mumbling about how I should have listened to y5mgisi... Lol!

that link shows that the caps for aluminum wheels have the "bumpy" outer edge and the ones for steel wheels have a "smooth" outer edge. the pics posted a couple pages back show the "smooth" edged caps on H2 wheels.
:confused:my whole life and everything i know is a lie!
so maybe either one will work. i'd rather use the silver painted caps as they match the wheels better and those are typically the "steel wheel" caps. you never see silver painted caps on polished aluminum wheels, just the chrome ones.

What kind of wheels can you get away with running? And offset issues?
I have H2's on the chalet...but i was looking at options for the 90 jimmy.

I've only ever run stock steelies, the 16.5 steelies on it now and now I've got a set of H2s. I love the aluminum PYO wheels from the HD Chevy trucks but the offset is wrong and they're too narrow for anything more than a 285 tire. I've seen guys run them on straight axle trucks with spacers but I'd rather not deal with that. Sucks because they're such good looking wheels.

The restoration/modification of Daisy... [nothing exciting right now]

You can run a lot bigger tire than a 285 on those wheels.

I've heard a lot of conflicting theories. Never actually seen a set with a 35 or 37 on them though so I don't know for sure.

[edit] that pic didn't show up when I read it the first time. I guess I stand corrected.
