I like it. Did you get the headlights for lmc? I have the park lights and side markers from lmc and haven't decided on the headlights. Seems pricey
Are those red things the horns Some one was selling on pirate? Interested to see how loud they are.

Yep, hella super tones. Search for them on YouTube. They're loud and obnoxious but they sound different from what I expected. The high tone is higher than I wanted it to be but oh well.

headlights, turn signals, park/tail lights, horns, fuel pump and wipers are wired. fan shroud is almost done [being built by a friend], tacked up all the elbows on the Y-pipe, painted the t-case shifter black to match my Lokar shifter
more parts on the way... battery cable, battery cable ends, grille, headlight bezels, park/turn light housings, dash speakers (i ****ed one of mine up), and a few other small things. the OEM harness/fuse block are out and the painless one is in, this week we'll start wiring everything in and building battery cables. hopefully she'll fire up in a week or two.
gotta replace those park/turn lenses, everything else is new...

still gotta weld this up.
just clears the torque converter shield
i think i'm gonna weld a tab onto the 2-1 pipe to bolt to the trans pan to keep from hanging everything off the headers. still need to buy the parts to build the rest of the exhaust.
oh and my t-case will have a sight glass, like an Atlas.

Wow great read. I can definitely appreciate the love that goes into restoring the truck you learned to drive in. I love the H2 wheels and support your endeavor to drop the suspension to 5". That's a perfect height for our trucks. Also I'm glad you finally came to your senses and went 5.3 out of the gate. I was hoping after 100 pages of reading I'd get see a payoff but you're damn close now.

Haha thanks man! It feels good to hear stuff like that. I'm getting close, we'll be working all week and weekend on getting her wires up and running. If parts show up, we might even fire it up Sunday. We'll take video of the first start up, my parents wanna be there to see it, it's gonna be a big deal. Today I'll throw 5-10gal of fuel in the tank and prime the system to check for leaks.

THere is hardly any wires to hook up for a simple test fire!
i know, wiring scares me. i can rebuild engines, hydraulic cylinders and pumps, all kinds of ****, but wiring scares me. haha! i put fuel in it and siliconed the diff covers on. this weekend (when i can sneak it all home from work) i'll fill the diffs and trans/t-case and take care of a few other things while my friend (antibling) is wiring up the dash.

Sweet. The wiring really scared me at first too. But once your in, and taking it piece by piece, and have the Internet, it's really not so bad.

Yeah, as antibling was tearing into the factory harness he was showing me that. Look at it in sections, focus on that section. If you stand back and look at all the wiring puking out of the dash it looks daunting. I'm learning as we go.
