Me to, still haven't heard the engine make noise or shift gears.

I have had pumps go out like this. Start to fail and then work fine for a week or two. Then stumble again. Then back to good.
If that's what came out of the filter, then what'd the bottom of the tank look like?
So the pump and filter are both swapped out, the brown **** that came out of the filter was pretty ugly.

Also when I took the sending unit out, the tank baffle moved, it wasn't secured to the bottom of the tank. So I got some sheet metal nuts and secured it.
Dropping the tank wasn't too hard thanks to my fuel tank adapter for my floor jack.![]()
Check it out, 5psi gain at the rails.

When swapping the filter, I found that I didn't have the tool to remove the outlet line from the filter. So I improvised. I took a plastic cap like this.sliced it down one side and cut the center out. It slides into the line and depressed the lock tabs in the filter to release the line. I stuck the new filter on and taped my new tool onto the line in case I need it again.![]()

I took her for a drive and it really runs great, the new pump is almost completely silent as well. I dug out the receipt for my AC condenser and removed the cracked one from the truck, I'll get it replaced in Monday.
I leave for Moab in 39 days...
Rock Auto sells new tanks that have welded in steel baffles as that plastic baffle has always been the down fall of those tanks. That should cure the sludge issue brother scott. And hey...you already have 75 towards said tank right?

Can you do me a favor. I was under the jimmy last night removing wire nuts from my fuel pump wiring. GM diagram says tan/white and pink to twin wire weather pak connector. Sender side is gray and purple. Do you remember what color goes in what cavity on said harness. I'm guessing purple to pink...but assuming with electrical is asking for problems...lol.

Are you going to have the winch mounted in time for Blazer Bash?
