The Shop Truck

1971 Chevy C20 with a custom flat bed.
They don't list an LS swap radiator unfortunately. Looks good outside of that. Someone else recommended Griffin, but same issue.

What makes it an LS swap radiator? Is it the in/outlets both on the passenger side?

I looked into an LT swap radiator for ReTonkulous. Both are on the drivers side. Found a hose at the auto parts store, they let me cruise around in the back, that fit the lower PS radiator outlet to the pump on the DS. Used the stock hose for the upper. Lucked out with both. Factory 4 row unit. But not nearly the ponies you are planning.

I'll probably end up with Silicone couplers and aluminum tubing for the radiator hoses.

I’m kind of in the same boat, I don’t like the radiator and fan setup I currently have so going back to my old setup. I have my old radiator still, but noticed some blue stuff running down it, not sure why it’s blue. :dunno:

I like to go overboard on cooling as well. I have friends that think I’m nuts but I don’t have any issues.

PWR won't sell me the shroud without fans so I'm looking for another option. I did look at Ron Davis and they list a radiator that will work. They made 16" fans work on theirs so I may go that route depending on the cost.

I've got a DeWitts in my Camaro, the core material is good, welds were good.

I've also run Ron Davis, no complaints there either.

What temp is the t stat ? Maybe loom into a 180° instead of 195°

Almost $1200 and only 1 frickin picture, and it doesn't even look like the one your getting.

I saw the DeWitts, but like a few other brands when I see a fan shroud that doesn't cover the entire radiator I keep scrolling. This thing would not work in AZ.

This is the Ron Davis by comparison, I also like how much space there is on theirs between the fins and the fans.

I saw a program a long time ago that looked at electric fans. A one inch gap between the blades and the fins was a minimum for good flow. Less than that flattened the air flow as it came out of the fins. Reduced flow dramatically.

Show me where I can click on "buy"...
I sent them an e-mail, waiting to hear back. I don't even know how much it costs, but I'll likely get it. I can always upgrade my 14" DetaPag fans to 16" fans if I need more cooling than the derales it comes with do (or if they're too annoying). I can use the same controllers, I'd just need new fans.

You can call them guys at Ron Davis. Buddy used to work there. Out by the Glendale Airport. They allow local pickup. At least they used to.

I’m sure they have a wait time on it unfortunately. It took them 2 weeks just to answer my email because they forgot. I had to eventually call them to get a quote.

Exactly why I keep scrolling when I see a shroud like that one.

Not sure if you’ve looked at Cold Case. The one I got got my ‘69 was good quality, heavy brackets and tubing. Complete shroud, fans are spaced out

I did look, but didn't realize you could order them with fans and shroud until you posted that.

I'm not just looking for a good radiator though, I really am trying to get the best one I can and that's looking like the Ron Davis, at least I know that they're local and understand what it takes to cool a hot rod in this city.

conversion rad ? I have a question about these conversion rads. How do they force the hot coolant to travel through core ? I am guessing there baffles forcing to flow to the opposite side, but how many ? Do they choose sections of 5 rows of tubes ? Do they force 1 row at time, like an old style condenser ?
