THE STUBBY project / R.I.P . . . . . . . . . . .

Looks great. I hope to be able to see if in person if I ever get out that way.

Are there any places to go wheeling around this area?

Hmmmmm. there hasnt been an update in a couple days :dunno: Im really lookin forward to seeing this thing finished.

removing 30-35" of wheel base this weekend. and pics will come.

got all my hardware thursday to bolt all back on frame.

well didnt get to work on truck this weekend. had a bad trip home from bar. fell walking and got my right knee good. no brakes but streched and sore.

did get my other 2 body lift blocks i had friend make me. 1.25" high for the room i needed. this weekend tho i did score the 2 front hangers for the rear springs off a 1ton for making me my own flip kit in the rear. should be here friday. so i can then remove my 35" of extra wb. and flip the rear for more flex and ride smother.

Dang buddy knee's looking pretty rough... Tattoo and Coke ease the pain?

I'm excited about the hacking and welding coming up, the machine will be unstoppable! Now... where is there riding around our parts to do the rig justice?

wow di i get super lucky today at removing 33" of rear wheel base.

took few measurements and found easy to do. so i removed the hangers on 1 side of the frame first. then marked my spot i wanted it to be. but ran in to 2 rivits on the bottom of the frame i had to remove. but upon closer look thay lined up 100% perfectly with the lower support bracket rivit holes . so looked a bit more and only lost 1" less of shorter wheelbase than i was going for. :frown1:

well removed the 2 rivits per side and crossmember for old carrier bearing mount for 2 section drive shaft i wont need anymore. funny thing was its a factory flat crossmember for the tcase up side down and a little bracket on it to bolt the carrier bearing to. good use of left over parts gm. :waytogo:

then found 2 rivits out of 6 for the cab supports needed to be removed for the hanger to sit flush. will figure out somthing for this later.

now i need to drill and bolt the hangers all the way on 100%

then i will work on the rear hangers or flip kit i will try the flip first. but who knows ?

but i ended up with 132" wheel base. and i think a real good look and over all balence. not to close or to far away.

You know GM reusing parts- Just think of all the years parts are interchangleable on our trucks and the new trucks I don't think you can steals parts from one year to the next. KNOW WONDER THERE BROKE.
Too many engineers and bad designs.

thanks guys

few more pics out side in the sun and yep its going to ride smooth those bds springs flex good. i can bounce it by hand and the truck floats up/down easy. just need shocks now.

Shackle angle =good, Pinion angle=? .....JK
I should have kept the CC I had instead of selling it to Oletoyboyd

DANG dude! It's crap I had to go away for the weekend... Truck looks great, all parts are made for true use and abuse. Too bad it's going to be a PAVEMENT QUEEN! Just kidding, looking forward to hitting the trail with you.
