Is it just me or does ^ that scare the hell out of anyone else? :eek1:

Yep, it does me too. Got to do what you got to do I guess. Could box it in that area I guess.

Just found this thread. Great build. The transfer case looks way too good to be under the truck.

Nice build cant wait to see it finished.

i guess when i am done i will basicly have a super 60 minus the super housing .

oh well . live and learn i guess.

Nice bling you got going on there. I want some of those knuckles!

How did you come out price wise (over/under) compared to the super 60?

only said super 60 as a thing to say.

if i had the reset button to push and do it again ..... full custom on a pallet delivered

i got a price from dynatrac high pinion housing / tubes / reid ( dedenbear ) inner c's / shipped 2k. then all my parts i got it would end up in the 5k range still.

yess i still have a low pinion axle / stock housing / tubes/ inner c's . but i can fix that later if i break it. and i like to build it 1 time before i buy it. then i know what it takes to break it. :wink1:

I think most people with a reasonably built D60 they put together themselves have at least $2-3k in it (I'd hate to add up what I spent on mine). Yours is a little more "built" than that. I figure the typical fully built D60 from Dynatrac is at least $4-5k.

My thinking is that you learn a heck of a lot more about D60's building your own, plus you save maybe $2k for other areas of the build. It sounds like you ended up much closer to the dynatrac cost.

ya dynatrac would come close to my build. minus some parts and plus better housing.

my only thing i would do diffrent is a dynatrac housing/tubes/ reid ( dedenbear ) inner c's for 2k shipped and my stuff installed. then i will still be 6k in money out minus my setup time.

but i have done lots of reserch and found good little upgrades here and there that add up in the end. but life span will be a lot longer in the end.

Experience with them is always valuable knowledge. I would rather have to make a trailfix, after having one apart, instead of trying it for the first time in BFE.
I still don't have as much in my D60 as I do my Vette axle though, and that's only a 10/12 bolt hybrid :p:

got my 4 replacement rims to day . :D

pic of what i got . style only not actual. still in boxes.

then i will blast them bare and repaint white as i cant realy stand black.

also going to weld up the valve hole and move it in to a much more protected area near the center. then i will get some super short flush mount valve steams. like these http://www.gemplers.com/product/6008BS/Tractor-Front-Implement-Wheel-Valve pic also .
