The Toyotas

We’re totally hijacking kenny’s thread here but I listen to a lot of YouTube videos. I just stream it off the app on my phone. I barely know how to use the radio tuner on the center computer/tablet thingy.

To add to the high jacking of KENNYW’s thread - I’m with ya on listening to videos and such.

On the music side of things I realized about a year ago that I have 9,288 ( just checked this stat ) songs on my I-Tunes account - it makes it nice when making music playlists.

Is this common on Toyotas? I know VW/Audi coils start degrading every 50k miles or so. The owners manual even recommends spark plugs every 40k so for cheap insurance you replace the coils at the same time usually.
I don't know if it is common, but someone put aftermarket "performance" coils in in place of OEM. The aftermarket parts failed so I replaced them with OEM Denso coils and don't expect issues again for a long, long time.

Would it be CK5 without a random hijack? I personally can't stand listening to broadcast radio anymore. It bounces between HD and non-HD so it sounds like crap, too many ads, and no stations play music I like 99% of the time like a streaming service can. Plus how many stations mix Rock, Heavy metal, Classic Country, and a few other select songs all in one station?

I haven't listened to music in a decade.
Half of my cars don't even have a radio.
I was driving across the country with no music for years.
Music was putting me to sleep

Good to know about your aftermarket coils!

A quick project to move the dash cam over to the Go Pro mount and rearrange my dash mounted radio and phone setup. I love having a 3D printer. Although, I only printed this stuff with PLA and may need to reprint in a better material when my next order arrives with PTEG-CF arrives .

Nice! What was that spot on the windshield for originally? Looks factory with the black under it?

Last weekend, I had to replace the alternator in my 2nd-gen Tundra. I think there is a special place in hell for the engineer who packaged the accessories on that engine...

Such a PITA.

Same with most new vehicles

I looked into doing that on mine and said nope. I’m writing a check for that one.

Once I got the process figured out, it wasn't actually too bad to get everything back together. I have to replace the timing chain tensioner on the driver side this summer and did have the stark realization that I will have to undo everything I did to get the new alternator back in...

My 08 tundra, and my 2010 RAV4 limited are right up in the top 4 of my favorite dailies I've ever had.
My 91 4runner was my best wheeler as far as all around.
Had an '11 camry and an '11 RAV4 also.

My tundra was the first vehicle I ever owned more than 3.5 years lol. Also the first NEW vehicle I ever bought.

Almost bought another when I got my current 2500hd, but the price point wasn't there yet.

This RAV4 Hybrid is just boringly reliable so far. 28xxx miles in 14 months. It just goes.

My 2011 that I gifted to my granddaughter is still going with 182k on it…nothing but brakes and oil changes so far, not even a light bulb!
Pic was 4 years ago, unfortunately she don’t take care of it cosmetically as I did.

I ordered a camshaft position sensor since my truck threw a check engine light for one. Pulled it into the shop and followed the instructions I found for removing the crankshaft position sensor, but found the part didn't match what I ordered. After 30 minutes of trying to figure out what went wrong, I realized my mistake and put the truck back together. Then I checked the camshaft sensor location to find that rats had chewed the wiring. A new pigtail will be here today, I'll need to remove the intake for access and figure out if I have enough slack to slice it in.
