Time to build a suspension... (looking for input on springs)

I'm having a hard time finding the others data. I may have to call, that may not lead to anything. We'll see Monday.

Input TC EZ rides seem soft with bilstein shocks in front of my 87 K5.

World of difference with them and shackle flip with bilstein shocks in rear. Felt like different truck running no sway bar very little body roll.

Still need to remount front shocks with ford towers and pretty sure will ride even better that way with new tires.

Thanks for starting this thread @campfire

Though it’s an older thread, it was very helpful for me in educating me on leaf springs and options.

Cool.

For what it's worth, I wound up buying brand new 3" Tough Country EZ-Ride springs for the front (~$250 shipped), and brand new General Spring (Kansas City) rear springs for the back (~$220 shipped).

These 1875# springs are the softest in the catalog. I chose the soft ones knowing that I have the old saggy leaf pack, so I could easily add leaves as needed. Or airbags. These stock-height springs were paired with 3" welded blocks from Rough Country ($30 shipped).

So I spent about $500 on my 3" lift, and it has a much softer ride than the saggy stock springs. I'm a happy camper.

Steering-wise, I installed a 4" raised steering arm and the ORD steering brace. I plan on reinstalling the sway bar (I have a set of ORD sway bar disconnects). The swaying is annoying. No complaints off-road. The truck gently climbs over all sorts of obstacles.

I grabbed some 14" 5125 shocks for the front, but they wound up being a touch too long. The Ford shock towers could be mounted higher if I remove the A/C box. But it makes more sense to just install shorter shocks. The back got some adjustable rate Pro-Comp monotube MX-6 shocks (haven't messed with the adjustments yet). I have already welded up one broken shock mounting bracket, so I'll be installing reinforcement brackets to keep the shock bolts in double sheer.

And I have some taller generic Jeep bump stops that look like they'll fit in the standard brackets.
