Traded my .38 SPL for a welder. Sweet update with pics! Time to weld!!!

Deuling and the woodchuck beat me to it, but yeah, clean that sh!t before you burn on it. I personally like the wire cup brush wheel on the grinder (though they shrapnel wires out if you whang on 'em hard). Get you a real coarse one, none of that pansy fine stuff:

The flap disc is also good, but if you go batsh!t crazy with them they can remove more material than you wanted.

ya need to grind that carbon off... and slow down.. the first weld looks pretty good, the second looks quick.. also watch your blueing around it for good penetration.

are you pushing, or pulling the bead?

I was pulling. I need a better steel brush too. Bought a cheap ass one from HF and it is falling apart. So, no chipping or brushing. It's very hard to get comfortable, but that will be something I need to get used to.

I'm sure its been said, but still can't be said enough,
Prep is a HUGE deal when welding.

Es muay importante.... :D

Yer welds do have nice form, but need more penetration, and a slower pass.
Just my 2 cents. :dunno:

Edit: But what do I know... I only use .035 FluxCore. :haha:
