Want to Go to Blazer Bash 2011 What do I Need ?

I have said it and will say it again a 1.75" HREW cage will save your life once. A DOM cage will save your life several times

Design is almost more important in a cage, I say almost, but a poorly designed cage out of 2" DOM will fail sooner than a very well built cage out of 1.5 HREW.

And welding all the way around all the joints Rob :flipoff10:

I guess I will start stocking up on some 1.75" DOM. If .120 tube is good then I will get that and see what I come up with. How do you get the tube welded all the way around all the joints on a half cab? That was the problem I was faced with on my current Jegs cage.

I have seen/read were they build it then pop holes in the floor to drop it and weld her up:D I seriously think you should back half yours Rob, but thats just me.

Thanks for the idea, I would never thought of doing that. The reason I did not want to back half it was because I was wanting to keep it as stock looking as possible. I was also wanting to skimp on some of the funds needed to relocate the fuel tank or even an aftermarket fuel cell. I guess that is all the excuses I have for now.

I can see keeping it stockish esp. where you live you can probably still drive it on the street.

 Hmm, from what I remember seeing a couple of months ago - a complete and running vehicle - the state of your truck in the image above seems like several steps backward!

1 step back and 2, 3, or 4 steps forward . ssyork"s communist regime.

Well I got my TPI kit last week and figured out what seats and seat belts i'm gonna use. Now waiting to hear how much the cage is going to cost. Still need to get the tranny and transfer case back in. Got the transfer case back together this weekend. A little closer to Blazer Bash.

I can't wait. Have never been to BB but have been to Moab. Just got done doing the front end ion the tow rig...should steer good now:D

The blazer is waiting on a new Superior short inner shaft after I twisted the splines in Carnage BB on the day after thanks giving.

I have stayed at Slickrock Campground before and will probably stay there again.

I live in Arvada, Colorado and will be going west on I-70 on Wednesday the 7th or Thursday the 8th. Anyone who wants to head out with me is welcome.

This should be a great time and I am really looking forward to it.

I want to go for the entire week before. I am sure I will end up driving out Thursday also. Too far out to plan that detailed yet.

:thumb:We have space #42 @ Slick Rock Camp Ground reserved again, Sep.3-12 2011. I hope we can wheel with some of you early birds. We'll have around (6+) rigs From Vegas this year. Some times it's just fun to watch the show .....:woot:

So....If all goes as planned, I will be leaving the Denver area the morning of the 6th and will be at Slickrock Campground that afternoon. It would be great to do a little early wheelin .

I will be leaving Monday morning the 12th to head back home.

This will be my first Blazer Bash and I am looking forward to some great wheelin and meeting some new people :woot:.

See you all there!!

are most tenting, RVing, or hotelling it? Is there room at the campgrounds for a 45' RV with 20' car trailer?
