Pulled the shocks, rotated the tires and set it down, on my articulation ramp.View attachment 442368
Did this with and with out the sway bar. Losing the sway bar got me ¼" more droop and @⅜" more stuff.
My factory shock mounts are 21¾" droop and 18¼" stuff.
The ORD Bilstein recommend for 4" lift is 23⅜ and 15⅛.
The 3" lift recommend is 22½ and 14 even.
The spring is almost flat, as pictured. I know there might /will be more movement then I created. Question is how much.
The snubber to spring plate had 4" of clearance.
So which shock do I order?
I would do the one for the 4" that ORD recommended, not because they did but the numbers work for your setup best.
On a bump you will stuff shorter than the 18", 15" gives you enough room, and on droop you got more than the stock shock, 2" more.

I've wondered about the Evil Energy stuff. I have used one of their exhaust v-band clamps and seemed okay. I just used their AN to inverted flare adapter for my trans cooler. I figured the low pressure trans cooler was an okay place to use a questionable brand. It did have good reviews at least.

It is nice they tracked your complaint and responded in an appropriate manner. These days when quality seems hard to find anywhere, good customer service becomes a bigger deal.

I am now not sure if my mounting job contributed to the failure.
It has a small bit of wiggle. Seeing how much wear is in the swivel has me rethinking.

I bought their stuff for my blazer. Talked to a few shops and they’ve had good luck with them. Buddy of mine just did his charger with it because the name brand stuff kept leaking.

I bought a second kit in -10 to do an oil cooler on the dune buggy, had all the components stashed away. Got it all out and need -8 lines. Am now a crossroads do I go Fragola or Evil?

I have all evil energy-8an and -6an with their ptfe lined black hose for my fuel system. Been on there for a few years now. @Desert_K5 rig has the same stuff.
My buddy who does gen 5 swaps uses it on the daily. Also use their interlocking v-bands on exhaust. I have yet to see/hear of any issues with anything so far.

Not my intended project for today, but successful.
PO had moved a horn to add coolersIMG_20230329_133410.jpgIMG_20230329_133415.jpg
Has been intermittent and pitiful meek horn, and you all know sometimes you have to let the idiot with phone know the light turned green.
So I moved the OEM horn from the bottom back up to the rad support.IMG_20230329_143816.jpg
Was bench tested with a jump box batt, very robust blast, I jumped.
Hooked up hit the button nothing. Disconnect the upper aftermarket horn, only OEM connected. Meek toot when horn button depressed.
Tarnished copper?IMG_20230329_141528.jpg
How about that 3 way terminal try finding that today. Good scrubbing with a SS tooth brush, IMG_20230329_141528.jpg
Hook both horns, Success nice robust blast.
Now to do what I really am after turn it around on lift so I can pull the power train for reseal.

Went for a little road test. No front shocks and no sway bar. Just around the block was very boaty, then on some wash paths looking for a rock to flex on. I didn't find one with in a half mile of my house, at least not one I didn't have to bushwack to.
Found a burm and gave it a try.

edit forget to mention, steering wheel was way off center after spring change. possible raised frame and straight springs shifting the axle back to center.

Not yet, the old one worked. Truck stopped well enough, even towing all the trailer loads for our move. It leaked when applied, I couldn't hear it, wife told me it was leaking. I have a list of things to get to b4 Blazer Bash, going to back it up and rack it. No front shocks atm. Have front shocks on order from ORD. No shipping noticed yet.

I am going to front driveshaft issues.

This the extra deep Derale cool pan. 700r4 with 1972 Np205 figure 8 adapter.
Not sure the stock pan will work.

Opinions, solutions?

Hmm, that’s not a good angle. I had a 700-r4 with a 205 but there was a magnum spacing it back farther. Is that 205 clocked down?

The stock front shaft is a very small diameter. Probably for that very reason.
Maybe you’ll be ok.

I wish I could find it, idk where it is atm. I have 2 np203 shafts and SD shaft hanging around.

I thought to get a 32 spline out put and flange it for a cv but thats not looking like viable paln atm

I have a couple stock front shafts. I think they are off of 208’s but maybe the same…
