Some carb work today. Figure out away to see the power valve spring actual action.

This video shows the power valve movment with the Edelbrock spring. Not much movement. Spring seems very soft to me.

Second video is with the Carburerors Unlimited Orange spring @ 8" Hg.

Other changes today. Adjusted idle air bleed tubes to 1" from air horn. They were @ 1.25" b4.
Went from .069 jet and 36b rods to .074 jets and 45b rods. 45b rod measured .043 not .045.
Road test in a bit.

75/45

If you went 69/36 > 74/45 you didn't move much

At idle no. When the rods are up it did a bit 69 .026 is .00320
74 .026 is .00376.
Efit The 45b rods measured .043
That would be .00283. The 36b rods did measure .036 which 69 36b is .00272. Small idle increase.

74 are the biggest jet i have atm and 45b were the only rods laying around. Didn't want scavenge jets and rods from my whole good qjets.
Have some bigger jets and rods coming.
.075 .076 .077 jets

Rods were a little scarce
Order another set of 45b,want to see if they measure .045.
A set of 43b

Thinking i might try 77 and 45b. The 74 and 45b have had an effect on the noise I'm hearing,is less. Could be the rods actually moving out of the jets under load now not sure

I tried 71 and 36b a bit back aways it ran fat at idle.
Not sure if it wasn't the float level to blame back then. I change everything back to original 1902,except going lower on the float level. 7/16" on that currenty.

Now 8" Hg spring and 74 45b combo.

2000 rpm @60 mph tcc locked. Going to have to adjust the vacuum switch a tad more, light accel is right at the lock/unlock setting, in 4th.
1st to 2nd gear up shift move up @ 4MPH and is very smooth. The gear changes are much better, more useable.
Having the vacuum switch in tcc circuit is a game changer, wish i done it years ago.
Tires are out of balance at 66-73, baggys of brads in side, hopefully when the bags break it will be better balanced.

My jets and rods showed up today.
I measure both sets of rods
43b are .040"
And these 45b are .042"
So I have some combos to work with

Today I put 1/8 turn ccw on my tcc vacuum switch. Open 8hg and below. This beast cruises flat and level at @11 hg. If i get on that lock unlock vacuum setting just gonna need to use more skinny pedal.

Swapped 74 jets for 75 and same rods at measured .043"
Not much change.

Drove down a sxs track for a mile or so. Tires were at 40psi, pretty ruff rattling ride. Dropped them to 28psi hot much better.
Went through some very loose gravely wash in 2x floated right across. Steep climb out of wash,no issue.

Got the the trico ss wiper blades from Kenny yesterday, complete with NW fungi still equipped. Finding new refills is a chore. Looks like OER 17528d maybe the only game in town. Anco and Trico seem to have stopped making refills to fit. Trico 43-160 is the refill for these.

Need some pics - actually we just want to see the nasty fungus grow’n on them.

I've read that the silicone blades are the only ones that last anymore. My rig does sit a long time, but if I get a year out of the blades, that's good. It's definitely not from wear.

The weird thing to me is, if the pure silicone blades are so much better, why are they so rare? Probably cost, as with everything it seems.

I have up on trying to use refills, so few of them around anymore. Did figure out I could repurpose some blades I had for an old vehicle, just had to swap them into the old wiper "frames" for the truck.

yes here in Havasu blades don't survive the summer, haven't any feed back on silicone yet. Hell it has only rained maybe 3x in 12 months where wipers might have been needed here.

I use rain-x on some of my vehicles that didn't have good blades.
That should work for your few times a year rain

Found some Anco 11-16 nos on fleebay for $8 a pair, bought 3 sets.

I have some 11-18s here so I used that for test fit.
Couldn't find any Trico's on fleebay.

Havecan idea i might be able to refill the trico SS back bone with some of the jungle store offerings. Time will tell.
