So I worked on my Windstar fan wiring. The large fan is 2pd,
I am gussing the little fan is high spd only.

Have these tires actually tagged the fenders yet?

You can gain clearance from trimming the inner lip down low where it's not visible from the side, especially if you will have a swaybar or employ the low bumpstop option. Could be worth taking in stages if you don't want to de-fang in general.

Only have highway miles on these tires. Only quick 1/4 mile loop on some sxs tracks. I do really like how it looks with 37s and the rpm range with them. Don't like how heavy they thou.

Last Friday the wife and took the burb out on The Back Way to Desert Bar, which is down by Parker.
1st real trail since installing 37, moving axle forward, and new ORD high mount shocks.
OnX rates this trail as 5 of 10 difficulty, with all the rain we've had recently it was maybe a 6.
Burb ran flawlessly, had some minior front fender rubbing. Future trimming incoming, or 35s.

Very minor contour wrinkle of fender fang.

The desert is so green right now it's amazing. Scenery and vista were great too.

Tailing pile and closed horizontal shaft was 1/4 mile around a ridge, I dicovered later.
The destination is only open Sat and Sunday, so the trail was all ours. Two sxs passed us at trail head I was locking hubs and airing down. Later at the Memorial I saw a jeep coming up from our back trail, they never caught up to us.
Used low for the first obstacle, steep up hill climb over a large sharp rock. Then 4 hi the rest of the day.
A nice peaceful adventure.

Very nice pics !

If it keeps raining out there in your area Wes y’all might turn all that dry land into a Florida type desert - ours is a little more green and a little bit wetter though…

I don’t recommend licking the hubs though. Taste like pennies.

I did a thing today, maybe a great thing or not so great. IMG_20260318_171134.jpg
87-9 454 out of a Bounder coach. 60kish miles. block casting 14015445, heads are 14092360 open chamber small valve. I popped the valve covers, they are very clean. Disappointing there are 5 intake push rods missing. I can see some in the valley through the push rod holes, and a couple lifters that are no longer in their bores.
I don't have a huge amount of $$ in it, little more than core price. Came with a th400 you can see on the trailer deck.

This engine is destined for the 77 suburban. It doesn't need to be high horse power, good torque and few hundred hp is fine. Going to put it in front of the 700r4, it was built with the heavy burb and reasonable power plant (built 406, never came to fruition) in front.

Once I figure out why the push rods fell out, inspect and measure a few things, I'll start asking Big Block questions, and develop a plan.

it is the combo brackets one serp, ps and ac use v belt. Has Sanden compressor and brackets, no R4 compressor, Thank God.

Oh yes !
Even the lowest output 454’s with damn near minimal grind numbers and less than 8:1 compression are rich with torque with head ports/velocity that mimic diesel engines.
Put a decent mild cam in it ( I assume the OEM one has wiped lobes since they are missing certain lifters ) that will help with cylinder pressure and some respectable lift and enjoy the torque at idle and part throttle.

This is a very good thing !

It should have a multi-groove ( not a serp belt as it does not ride on the backside of any pulley ) belt for the alt. with regular v-belts for the other accessories.

I realize that you don’t plan on putting the TH400 in the Burb but it must be said that particular TH400 is actually the ole TH475 version ( high rated GVWR chassis application ) - note the big-ass parking brake drum on the tail end of that tranny.
And as an added bonus it’s a new enough case that it has the six thick bosses along the bottom of the bell/neck area that could be tapped for the bottom converter cover that accepts the braces to the motor mount plates.

Very nice score !

Didn't realize the trans was different than a normal th400.
Figured the output shaft and tail would be correct for t case, but not a 100% on that.
Noticed the thicker flange.
If I was running 40s this trans could work :haha:
