What do YOU have to do

Crap! Driveline shop call me up after a week of hanging onto my Tahoe to tell me that they didn't want to work on my truck. I wish they'd have told me on Monday so I could have it taken somewhere else...

Sucky! I guess I'll be running on home fab driveshafts front and rear!

call Tom Woods you can pick them up on the way down you will drive right past his shop or he could send them to you. He just rebuilt mine took them an afternoon.

^^^^This, at least for the rear. Besides you still have over a week why can't another shop get to it.

Why did the drive line shop need your truck anyways? Give them some measurements and have them build them up. On that note I agree with other guys, call a pro. I'm sure if you told woods or high angle your are heading to blazer bash they would make sure and have them out to you, or sitting in Moab at a shop.

Thats weird. My driveshaft shop builds them by the next day. I just give him the measurements between the tops and bottoms of each flange and a wad of cash and he gives me the shaft. :doah:

Run into a bit of a problem...

seems as though the direct drum clutches don't want to engage fully....I suspect a wrongly installed piston seal....friggin' noobs anyway, I'll find out by Monday....its at a locally recommended individual's shop right now.

(that would be me that rebuilt it)

Well, one call to Tom Woods while I was down under the truck with a measuring tape, and they will be sitting waiting for me when I travel through Ogden on my way down :D

I replaced the CV on the rear driveshaft and have no driveline vibes at all on the rear anymore. I need to shorten my booty fab front and will put it back onto the truck until I get the new ones from Tom Woods.

Tomorrow I am going to get the adjustable prop valve and bigger disc/disc master cylinder installed as well as a new longer rear brake line. I then have a few little things to do on Sunday, but should be pretty much ready to roll. I have not installed the hydro assist, and I am thinking I am going to leave that till after the trip down. I am concerned about the factory PS pump running the hydro assist, hydro boost brakes and assist ram all at once, and any binding issues etc... As long as the front end isn't locked, I can turn no problems. I don't plan on getting bound up enough to need the locker anyways. I'm going to lower the truck a couple inches the weekend before instead. My rear axle is dog tracking a bit, so I am going to fix that while I pull out the zero rate and install a 2.5" block in place of the 4" block. I am also going to pull two leaves out of the front pack to drop it down about 2". I'll then do some sawzall work and get some rock sliders installed. Should help with overall stability and also with my driveline angles.

If you need them picked up or something let me know I'm like 15 minutes from him.

Oddly enough Keith, Russ is staying Tuesday night at my house and will head down with us in the morning to your house. We will probably leave early morning so we have enough time to go grab em.

Of course he should have em done soon enough and it would be easier for you to grab em probably

Also make sure the correct 02 sensors are being used for the program. I don't fully understand the different 02 sensors but I do know we have to have a specific one for our system to work.

We have a winner! After verifying that the O2 sensors were wired up correctly we started looking to see if maybe we had the wrong ones. Unfortunately the number that was on the Denso sensors that we were running wasn't a part number, so we just bought the ones that went with that PCM (2002 Escalade). The connector was keyed and these wouldn't plug in so at least I knew they were different. I cut the "key" off of the O2 sensor plug and plugged them in. Started it up and checked the scanner and it was all good!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! :waytogo::bow:

I have to install a gas tank skid plate and then I'm ready to go. I leave for an overseas business trip monday morning and get back friday. Then we head out first thing saturday morning! I'm pumped! Were going to head up along the colorado river and camp in different spots as we make our way up to moab. Its my first vacation since the last blazerbash.
