Wife's 67 Power Wagon Build -Cage complete!

Cage work close to being finished.

Added rear angled supports and carried them through to the front.

Mounted the tent and located the spacers and fasteners, so they bolt through the DOM tubes instead of using the U bolts and plates supplied.

Added a reciever tube to the rear bumper, Just in case the PW needs to pull the trailer for any reason.

Paint time!!!

Cab cage pieces and the 2 sections that connect the rear cage to the suspension hoop and the fender tube(later).

Tremclad paint looks great but takes a long time to dry.

Wife isn't too sure she likes the idea of it on the truck all the time..??!:doah:

I think she will once its bolted in after the paint job.:dunno:

Next updates will be the sections to tie in to the frame. fenders, bumper plates, and sliders.

Should have this installed in the truck tonight...:woot:

I don't work on my personal stuff during the regular work day, so it's limited to evenings and weekends.:thumb:

The guys at work know I worked about 30 hrs this past weekend on the rig, so they boxed it in with a bunch of crap and said" now you may as well go home and rest, unless you want to waste an hour moving stuff around...!!!" :haha:

The test you referred to will need to wait until tomorrow night.
I think it will pass, but it may take a few tries to see where the weakness is.?:eek1:

Awesome work, John. :waytogo: Great craftsmanship on the entire cage and rig for that matter.

I really like the roof top tent. Three minutes later, and you have an instant stabbin' cabin. :pimp:

Cab cage in.

Now with the cab cage in place I can install the new LED interior lights and relocate the CB up between the center bars.

Kelly never did like it under the dash but until now we didn't have a better option.

Rear cage looks like it belongs.

I missed a spot painting the rear section pieces that tie into the rear suspension and the box side through to the fender tube.:doah:

I'll touch that up when I paint all the pieces that tie into the frame and slider bars and the rear bumper.:D

Rooftop tent mounted!

Tent is easy to remove so depending on how frequent our wheeling trips are it can come off quickly.

Still need to add the lights at the front of the rear cage and possibly some LED work lights at the sides.

Suspension mod required now.

Looks like the rear of the truck needs to come up 1.5 to 2 inches.
No surprise since I just added around 280lbs to it.

Rear shackle and mount mods this weekend to correct it..:D

The little woman likes the fact it looks like it should be owned by a guy.... she loves when people ask "Your old man lets you drive it..??" and she says no....it's mine! as she gets in and fires it up.:eek1::haha:

She is stoked to start driving it regularly.
Insurance company won't insure it now due to it's age, without an appraisal...??:eek1:
That is scheduled for next week.
Very curious what they will say for Value???:dunno:

Thanks!!

Excellent fab on some sweet old iron.

Glad you had a quick recovery after your ATV stunt riding.

Much appreciated complements.
Recovery is quicker than even I expected.
Face looks as rough as it did before:haha:
Nose actually still has no feeling:doah: hope more time heals that too.

John check out Haggerty collector car ins
