Wilson's 1986 k5 blazer build

Don't sell it. You prolly won't get close to that kinda money out of it anyways.

You may have put that much in, but your lucky to get .50 cents for every dollar put into a vehicle, especially an old gas hog like these :doah:

I put a price that it won't sell at but if it did no way I would refuse the offer...got a full scholarship and I only need book $ now so hopefully the build will continue

Time for some updated pics...Haven't done a whole lot. Painted trim of headlights with textured ruberized paint that came out well...Castrated it....and also added a knob on my 4X4 shifter that my dad made in wood shop on a lathe around 50+ years ago (one of best things on the truck)

I would also like to add that it has been driving progressively better everytime I get in it...Would this be because the motor is breaking in or what? It seems tranny is shifting smoother and engine is running alot better. I am pretty sure it isn't my imagination because my dad also said the same thing...Im not complaining though!:D (View previous page for recent pic update)

Build has come to the point where I am going to work on the small details as "mini" projects. I will provide details that hopefully will be beneficial in helping you guys too:waytogo:
PROJECT EXHAUST LEAK
Well This monday I am looking to fix my exhaust leak...This will include taking off my manifolds, either replacing or fixing gasket, painting manifolds, and finally re-installing them. I was referred to either use "oven-paint" or "BBQ Grill Paint". After going to wally world I found this stuff for just over three bucks. Will get progress back to you guys monday...

Update of todays work: Didn't get to remove manifolds because I saw a lot of grease under them on (heatshield?) so went and got engine degreaser...also saw oil was coming down from top and got a new oil filler cap, and moved some wires out of the way there...Hopefully that will fix all of the smoking from under the hood...Also did some painting of the trim around hardtop side glass. Lastly got covers over my speakers...All minor things but definitely progress.

TO DO LIST:
FIX OIL LEAK
SEE IF IT STILL SMOKES
INSTALL NEW HARD TOP WEATHERSTRIPPING
PUT ON NEW POWER STEERING PUMP
PUT ON NEW HEATER CORE
WHEEL THE HELL OUT OF IT!!!:zombie15:

Here is the trim around the hard top glass that was painted...Turned out well. Started it today and there was no smoke! Also want to take dash out and fix that and get the ugly dash carpet cover out of there

God i need to get on the ball! No progress lately :doah:Did the dash but it did not turn out too well. Not enough prepping and me being too anxious. Still have a big leak but installed the new power steering pump and I will go out tomorrow and see how much leaking has cut down. Fixing tail lights tomorrow (hopefully) so lets see how much progress I can get done! You guys need to motivate me more! lol

Adding some pics to the build today...Just got this 1996 Sea Ray from a good friend and the Blazer did great pulling it! Although braking was a little scary lol I need quite a bit of room to stop safely:eek:

First day I got to work on the Blazer this break.I only replaced oil in the front differential. The rear differentials bolt that you undo is slightly stripped so the 3/8 socket wrench would turn and not grab...have to find something to fit in there tuesday and get the rear done...

I looked on the left side and i saw 30/8 which comes out to 3.75...maybe I was looking at the wrong number:dunno: I will make sure I am looking at the right numbers when I do the rear
