WL: 1990 K5 (California to Nebraska on 38" rubber. (WARNING: Lots of Pics))

Got it together. Here is my shackle angle on the driver's side with the 6" shackles.

Here is the passenger side.

I think I could get away with 3/4" less shackle length.

Then of course I had to test it out, so I took it to the cut. Crawled right up it.

Tire track to prove it.

Ok sorry but what is the difference between Flush and the stock hanger?

I assume you mean FUSH, not flush. It uses a bigger bushing and a bigger bolt. I didn't really need to do a set of FUSH's but I got a good deal on a set of lightly used ones. What I really needed were new bushings in my springs. Mine were shot, and squeaked constantly.

The thing was, I didn't have a great shackle angle, and most people relocate their shackle hangers when they do a 52" spring swap. I just wanted to see if it made any difference.

Did you compress the spring and see if it contacts the frame at all? Looks like a good angle. Probably compensates for any lift the longer shackle provided.

I need to flex it out and double check. I couldn't get it to hit with a floor jack.

Martin

I'm not sure. Most of the difference so far is not hearing the squeaky bushings.

Martin

Yeah, but the bushing in my shackle hangers were fine. Only the bushings in the springs were bad.

I lost my clutch pedal the other day on a hill climb. Anyone ever lose their clutch pedal due to a steep incline before???
