'10 JK build (flame away)

If all you need is to bend the tie rod find someone who has a bender.

Plan on doing a cage later on and also tube fenders with it too. Well for the jeep anyway. K5 will get bumpers, cage, steering also possibly boat sides. Need to make shock hoops for it aswell. I'll without a doubt get my use out if it.

Well I finally bought a welder

And I built a cart for it, really just to test it out and get a feel for it. I didn't realize how powerful this little guy is. It's just a Hobart 190 but on 3 it burns 1/8" perfectly fine and on 1 it will burn thru 1/16".

Decided to redo my upper rear shock mounts to get them more vertical and also to raise them up higher along with the lowers to get them out if the rocks.

Picked up a fuel tank and skid from a TJ, stuff to make the fuel line, new straps, locking collar, and some sheet metal to redo the floor. Hoping I'll end up with 18-19" belly height on stock tires when I relocated it to the rear. I honestly don't know when I'll start that project. I want to tackle my steering over the next month so I can be ready for the Hi Desert round up at the end of May.

It's 1x2 .120 tube frame and .250 plate for the skid.

Finished the skid and mounted it up, still need to paint it though.

Finished my control arm skids today still need to paint then and the engine/trans skid. Going to make some front control arm skids, and some rear lower spring retainers.

Put the used 35s on it, they need balancing bad lol

Test flexed it and soon found out I need a longer rear trac bar. I'm ordering the heims for that today, and a better rear trac bar bracket. Need to get some 1.5 DOM .250 wall for the actual bar.

And you can see the skid in this one

After building a new rear track bar it should flex a good bit more, and I've got some death wobble up front. I know partially it's the tires but it happened also with the stock tires the other day. I need to pull the front track bar and check it over good. Also might go ahead and order the heims for my steering can't decide which route I want to go with it yet but I've narrowed it down to two designs.

One of these. I was leaning more towards the top because it gets my tie rod higher and I feel like it will be easier to package.

I've seen them run the draglink to the same bolt as the tierod, with a spacer.
Just make sure the angles are matched between the trackbar and draglink or you'll have bumpsteer and DW problems.
I like those longer springs; gonna have to check if they have some for mine.. had to use a limit strap to keep the springs in.

Yeah I'm tracking about the angles I'll probably buy a Artec track bar bracket. And actually those front coil springs are just a hair longer than the factory ones. The rears I believe are only 2" longer. Moving my shock mounts around to gain more up travel helped a lot to use all the travel. I'm still on the fence of going to a different longer dual rate spring such as the currie or metal cloak springs. I want to do the tank swap and see where my belly height will end up then I'll see if I want maybe another inch of lift.

Well I got the wild hair in my ass and went crazy with the cut off wheel. I've got everything I need just need time to do it all.

Well I pulled the factory tank, plumbed everything and got it rubbing without a problem. Just need to finish the floor than I can start on the flat belly portion. And tying that into the engine and transmission skid. Gonna be completely flat under neath and the belly pan will be made out of 3/16 plate.

Still digging your jeep man its awesome good work

Got a few other out of the box projects to make it a solid performer without dropping a buttload of money with all them manufactures. Other big projects are high steer using a RHD driverside steering knuckle, 3 link front, and getting all the brackets even with the bottom of the axle tubes.

Made more progress on my flat belly conversion, still need to clean up the frame rail, reenforce the crossmember/trans mount, redo my y-pipe and then figure out how I'm going to mount the skid to the frame. I want to use flush mount bolts so it's all smooth but I gotta do some figuring lol

Got my RHD driverside knuckle in along with all the joints and DOM for my steering. I've got to tackle it first before I finish my skid plate fit the bottom because I have now got death wobble and it's from my drag link joints and tie rod joints. Freaking sucks because work has been busy as hell too. Just a lot going on.
