Just a heads up but I built ramps that same way with angle iron and ended up bending them after a few uses so beware if you plan to load something pretty heavy.

The previous set I built had bent after a few years of use just loading the Jimmy on and off the trailer. These new ones are heavier material and feel sooo much more solid. The Jimmy will likely be the heaviest thing I use them for but thinking about a support leg to go in the middle.

They do look thicker than mine. I didn't want mine to be too heavy.

The Jimmy isn't exactly wearing skinny jeans.

On Thursday morning we got everything packed up and ready to hit the road. Met up with @the_blaze @ashman @kgblazerfive @Fullerton @Blazooki and @Z71paramedic , we made quite the convoy.
On Friday morning we headed out to cliff hanger and it was a bit harder than expected. Last time I ran it was over 10 years ago and the trail has changed quite a bit.

Wow time flies I wanted to get this updated right after getting home from bash but life gets busy.
To continue on we got to the end of cliff hanger and on the climb out we lined up one by one to tackle the last hill. We got about half the group up without incident with the help of some good spotting. It was roughly about this time that we were interrupted by a guy driving on the main road, going way too fast, and found the cornering limits of his SXS. He rolled on it on its side and slid to the edge of the road and barely missed a much worse fall. As a group we ran up and righted the rig then checked on him. He seemed ok and I’m sure the bruised ego will last longer than his actual scrapes.
shortly after I started my climb out to the road and that’s when I toasted my front U-joint Straps and watched as the caps went sailing off into the distance.

Something that has been painfully clear is that my steering is inadequate. I had replaced the box with a PSC unit but that only helped some. We got to talking on the trail about fixes. With my wife’s prompting, it was decided to see if a ram could be sourced and installed before the next day.
During the BBQ @the_blaze asked Dave from Xtreme 4x4 tours if he had or knew anyone that had a hydraulic ram available and luck would have it, Dave did. Hand delivered to the BBQ I got a used PSC ram and tabs.
That night back at our condo we had a crew of@the_blaze @kgblazerfive @ashman@Z71paramedic @Fullerton @blazinzuk and a few others to help as we fixed the drive shaft, added the ram, and swapped a transmission.

Well looks like I have to take a dump again,
A photo dump to catch up on the past few months.
Let’s finish up bb20 first.
Wrapped up installing the ram and headed out to Pritchett about mid day to check it out.

Loaded up and headed home. 8.1 tow pig in its natural habitat.:D
After a little while I did an after trip shake down and had to address an exhaust leak that had developed. Luckily I didn’t lose the bolt.

3 times the charm? broke 2 door handles in 2020 on the drivers door and now on the 3rd, hoping it lasts longer. Anyone know of a better set than the flimsy dorman handles?

I've always liked white lettering on tires and how they look on this truck.

Not much happened truck wise until December. Working at 4WP was great but time consuming. I was fortunate to get another job and started just before Christmas. To “celebrate” my new found extra time, I took my daughter snow wheeling to make a Uinta Garage video with @ashman and friends.
