weekend updates
found a dorman dome light lens that fit (Dorman PN 74323)
Few months ago my Dad asked if I wanted a stereo he removed from the El Camino. It's made by Custom Autosound and was missing knobs but I was able to sourced those through an online retailer for $17. The cool thing about this stereo is the dual RCA outputs and the auxiliary (RCA) input. I used some washers to shim it and the trim doesn't fit quite right but it's free so I'll make it work.
I had a kicker amp laying around so I picked up a wire kit and the RCA/lighting cable for auxiliary input.
Installed Kilmat 50mil sound deadening in the corners along with some speaker brackets and infinity 6x9's.
Sounds surprisingly good for such a simple setup. The speakers handle the gain at 100% and are loud as $hit
Reinstalled the seat and took it for a rip. Damn thing lights a tire pretty easily and it cruises nice and smooth at 50+ mph.
Still plenty of work to do but I'll have tags and insurance in two days so I can start driving it more.
