Few months ago my Dad asked if I wanted a stereo he removed from the El Camino. It's made by Custom Autosound and was missing knobs but I was able to sourced those through an online retailer for $17. The cool thing about this stereo is the dual RCA outputs and the auxiliary (RCA) input. I used some washers to shim it and the trim doesn't fit quite right but it's free so I'll make it work.

I had a kicker amp laying around so I picked up a wire kit and the RCA/lighting cable for auxiliary input.

Installed Kilmat 50mil sound deadening in the corners along with some speaker brackets and infinity 6x9's.

Sounds surprisingly good for such a simple setup. The speakers handle the gain at 100% and are loud as $hit :saweet:

Reinstalled the seat and took it for a rip. Damn thing lights a tire pretty easily and it cruises nice and smooth at 50+ mph.

Still plenty of work to do but I'll have tags and insurance in two days so I can start driving it more.

Where did you find the brackets for the 6x9s?
I always liked Infinity speakers, they sounded great in anything I had them in! :saweet:

I added the center speaker with the dual voice cone. I think it works will with the rear corner speakers. I do have the fader set to put 1 or 2 towards the rear, but it seems to fill the cab with sound better.

I looked into that however that one damn speaker was almost as much as a pair of 6x9's. I might add it later....

I started out thinking I could get away with just the center speaker and a woofer, but figured out later I needed to add the rear corner speakers.

Just read this entire thread at work while waiting for Jobs to get sold. Excellent work, so clean. Ill have to check out the white K10 build also. I seriously like the Turbine Wheels. Oh, and Bro-Flo for life!

Edit< I have read the other k10 thread.

Why can I not find what kind of radiator you bought? I know for a fact I saw a post that you said. Guessing it must have been a different thread

Yeah it was @SpeedlabDan first gen thread. I bought it on Amazon as a gamble and so far it’s paid off. 185 at the head has been the hottest temp I’ve seen so far however I haven’t exposed the truck to 100+ degree ambient temps yet.
