1977 Silverado Crew Cab.

And they have a bit more offset I think. As of now my plan is to run 285 75 16 duratracs. I really want toyo mt's but they are just so expensive!

Hmmm, I've heard a fair share of them as well. Between my brother and I, we are on our 4-5 set of these. Never one issue. And got about 40k out of them. I will be going the Guard Dog route for now, but may switch to a less aggressive tread.

A friend of mine got them too on his Dodge and they seem good but I think I'll just pony up for the duratracs. I really liked them in my blazer and I think they will suit my intended use for this truck pretty well.

I'm curious to see how the do for you on that heavy truck. What load range are you going with?

E for sure. I have read a lot of reviews on the diesel sites and no one complains about them. Seem to wear about average. I mostly like how quite and smooth they are and their slick traction. And they will be good for the little bit of mud, sand, etc that this truck will see.

Lol as of now the plan is stock front Springs with a 1" zero rate plus the added height of the 60 to hopefully be right around 2" lift. The rear I think will get a 4" block to make it level with the front (since the 2wds sit 3" lower in the rear than 4x4s). Trans and transfer case will be a th400 and np241. Engine will be a 6.0 or 8.1.

That's all tentative on finding good deal show much money I have, etc.

There is a chance I will end up with 2" front lift Springs and longer rear Springs with a 2.5" shackle flip plus whatever I need to make it level. There is also a chance that I will do a 4l80e.

Cool. Don't forget to report back with how they work our for you.
Ive got 25k on a set of 265's "E"'s maybe 1/2 gone at most
Ride good wear decen t and for an A/T great traction in mud and snow

:waytogo: what's your intended use?

I still vote for a fuel injected 396 w/ a 4l80E
a 396 gives no advantage here. Is it just to say you run a 396?
That is like saying I run a 307 in small block lingo

So does that mean a used set of springs if you go with the stock route? Or an aftermarket company to make the stock springs?

No donor frame. I'll just use this frame. I have done a 2wd to 4wd swap before so I know what I'm up against. And I will just buy a new set of Stock Springs. I forget where I was going to get them. I think SD truck Springs? Or something like that. I think they were around $300 a pair.
