Is the speedometer cable connection different on the '79? I know they changed at some point (threaded on earlier?) but that would be about the only issue I can imagine. Well, and getting fused ignition power to the VSS buffer (the box) but pretty obvious issue there. :)

You are correct on the t-cases. Eliminating the cable and being able to change the speedometer for gears/tires pretty simply is great, but the cost of a t-case swap adds up quick.

Do you have money into your current driveshafts?

What is your current transmission/transfer case combo?

Current trans is a 700, t-case is a 205. Rear shaft is full custom with a double cardan 1350 setup on the t-case side and .120 wall. Front driveshaft is a stocker from the 1990 burb that rest of this junk came from, but the stops have been ground out of the double cardan.

If i had the money I would've bought the 91 4L80E and 241 from the junkyard yesterday... @mrk5

Funny to think that some actually remove TBI from trucks that came with it.

Larry has been trolling some guy on Instagram that yanked the TBI off of a factory big block Suburban. Pretty funny stuff.

Back to the TBI swap! Good stuff!

There was 1 more piece in that box, it was moar fuller din dat.

What doesn't make sense to me is the folks who act like wires and sensors are too complicated and cannot be understood, like TBI is still a new idea. TBI has been obsolete for at least 25 years now (longer, for Ford owners). If one is not willing to learn basic TBI stuff, how can he ever get good with OBDII, MPFI, VVT, cylinder deactivation and a hundred other complicated modern things? TBI has mostly died off by now, now is not the time to embrace the carburetor.

The most confusing part has got to be folks trying to scab carburetors onto modern engines not designed for such. Carb on an LS? :doah:
