That day will likely come after I have a rear driveshaft.

Haven't done much to the truck. Been playing with the throttle valve cable for the 700R4 and I think I have it pretty damn close. I do have a slight coolant leak that I suspect is a hole in the heater hose where it plumbs into the radiator. I hope it isn't the radiator itself. I also am getting a clicking sound from the front driveline under acceleration, which goes away while coasting. It occurs under any acceleration, so I suspect it is the front driveshaft. I do not have a rear shaft yet so diagnosis it going to have to wait. The front drive shaft is only temporary anyway, as soon as funds allow I need to get one that is made to handle the angles, instead of me just grinding the stops out of the factory double C.

Plans for the weekend are to wire for torque converter lockup, trim the wheel openings, see about front shock mounting (furd towers), fix my coolant leak, and whatever else I get to.

Did some trimming on the wheel openings tonight. Gonna hit them with the flap wheel in the morning. So no pics yet. But come tomorrow there will be plenty.

Edit.

The coolant leak is becoming a bigger issue that WILL be addressed tomorrow, regardless of cost. Clicking in the frontend is worse everytime I move it. Now it happens under decel load too. I need a rear shaft.

Coolant leak turned out to be a bad radiator cap. Free because I had another lying around. Put the front bumper and grill back on too.

Don't usually like the looks of trimmed fenders but this is proof it can be done and retain the overall factory looks. Nice job
I agree. I've been dreading cutting mine because I want it to look right. This is good stuff for sure.

I'm not completely satisfied. The curves aren't quite right. I wore out all of my cut-off wheels and flap discs though, so adjusts will come after a little while.

those are some interesting frame reinforcement plates where the factory shocks bolt to the frame.

trim looks good.

So when I acquired this pig the rear shocks weren't even attached to the frame at all. The factory upper shock post was wallered out in the frame, and the hole was so big that the post would pull right trhough the hole. The only reason the shocks were upright in the approx factory position was that the lower bushing was so corroded that the shocks wouldn't fall over. I decided that the easiest way to fix it was with some 5/16" plate and grade 8 hardware. I drilled out the original hole in the frame to 1 1/4" and stuck the new plates up there. I was in a hurry so they never got painted or cleaned up around the edges, but they worked.

make sense, my frame had been repaired in the same place and was nearly cracked in half again when I got it. I welded a couple plates there to get my by....

Man I feel pretty fortunate with what I started with. I needed some steering components and my passenger floorboard was rotten but other than that and some other rust I haven't had any issues like what you guys have dealt with!

I did get one of the best compliments I think I could get conisidering the source.

I have a long time friend from highschool. One of the best dudes I know. He is an army veteran, listens to classical music, loves guns, does nearly everything for his father whom is in too bad of shape to do it himself, works his arse off to afford his favorite things, which happen to be Fords. He has a 2012 procharged Mustang with 900 hp, a 2015 ecoboost F-150 with about 100 more hp than stock, and a brand spanking new Ford Focus RS. He loves his Fords. He also happens to be black.

So he stopped by on Sunday to show off the new RS, got out of his car with the big ole sh** eating grin on his face. Walks over to the Chevy which he hadn't seen yet, looks all around it, and then looks at me and says, "dude, this mother****** is gangster!"

Thanks Lance.

All of us car people need to stick together. We're far out numbered as it is so it's cool to hear that someone from a completely different car hobby perspective can appreciate your truck!
