I agree. I've been dreading cutting mine because I want it to look right. This is good stuff for sure.
I always hated the sharp sheetmetal edge left behind after trimming fenders. I ran into a guy in town one day and after he had opened up his fenders he took some 1/4" round stock and hand shaped it to match the fender and welded it on the inside of the opening. Gave it a real clean smooth edge that looked pretty good.

That's kind of what @bmxbryant9 did on his too. I have a few ideas for mine but I haven't settled on any of them yet. Thought of using door edge molding as its cheap in bulk but I'm leaning toward making a new lip

I would have done it a lot different had I had a welder. Probably would have sawzalled out some sections from another bed and stretched the wheel opening. Just add about five or six inches and weld it back up. But I don't have a welder. Or those kinds of skills either. Chicks only want guys who have good skills.

Goona be needed some ideas on where to mount a hi-lift jack and how I should mount my spare...

I've always thought that the top of the bed rail was a good place for the highlift. I need to mount mine after I get my truck together too so you need to come up with something awesome

Both mine are bolted to the bed, the hi lift is under the tool box cross wise. Tire has a giant wing nut/stud widget thingy

Pics!

Needs teh pics!
I used the Hi-Lift lock bracket kit. The first pic shows the hanger tab for the base didn't work because it kept bouncing out and got bent.

So I made a more rigid mount for the base.

Don't usually like the looks of trimmed fenders

You guys must hate my truck then :rotfl:....not much of the fenders I didn't cut, bahaha. Let's just say I'm not scared of the cutoff wheels...I usually don't even think twice

Rig is looking real good @Justin V . I hear you on the emissions crap. I live in Douglas County and we have emissions here too. I dealt with it on my blazer back when it was street legal and it freaking sucked. I am also going to have to deal with it real soon on my crew cab. Since I did a motor swap I have to go down to the county and fill out paperwork on the motor swap...it's a freaking hassel. My next house will NOT be in a emissions county, weather in CO or any other state I might move to. If I wasn't in an emissions county, I would keep my blazer with plates on it....cause everybody likes seeing/hearing 44" boggers howling down the road, bahaha
